Ten Years ago i was Surfing my Local beach break at Tugun on morning and having a ball on a Twin Fin with wooden keels i had made for Sheridan Shields and Keala Kennerly to take on a Billabong Boat Trip in the Mentawias. The Airline had dinged it so i fixed it up and had a quick ride on it.. In The water surfing the same break was one of the Gold coasts well known performance shortboard shapers..(Harold Dandy we will call him) he had started making boards around the same time as me but just focused on skinny shortboards… he had a laugh and said he had ridden Twinnys before and hated them, said he would never ride one again.. Fortunately he had no influence on me and i just kept tuning them to amazing performance levels.. a necessity in every surfers Quiver..
Back to Today.. lots of those high performance shortboard shapers are now making Diverse shaped Boards in Twin Fins and all other experimental stuff.. Good for you as our refinements mean you get the optimum enjoyment from my perseverance with alternative craft.. Freedom, Fast.. making the most fun of small gutless surf.. Enjoy the Ride.. as i still do too..
